convenient set + card PLACE TOOL CAPTURE & LIFTHold tweezer so gripping part is near the tick. Carefully position the tool so it does not grip any hair/fur as this can cause discomfort. Place tool around the tick so you will grip the tick at the attachment point, don’t pinch the skin. Close jaws around the tick to capture it and then lift tick from the skin. This is a nice little set in a faux leather case – it has two tools, the v-shaped tick remover, and a set of tweezers. Both are fully made of metal, and the tick remover tool has a knurled handle like I’d expect of a dentistry tool. I liked the card showing common north american ticks and instructions on how to remove them… Though, the instructions seem a little generic – I’ve heard that you’re supposed to carefully remove ticks so they don’t get squished or severed and potentially infect a bite site… One side of the card shows common ticks and their varied sizes and appearance, and the other reads as follows:”In most cases, the slotted tick remover will be your best choice. When found most ticks are partially engorged with blood. This expansion makes the tick fragile and subject to damage by tweezers. The slotted tool will not squeeze the tick and it’s [sic] unlikely to cause damage that may release tick fluids. Hold the tool so that the slotted portion is flat onto the skin.

We moved to a new wooded property that’s saturated with deer ticks, and it’s been a real challenge dealing with them, even during Winter. I even got a few guinea chicks to help with the infestation, but as long as the deer roam the land we use as a walking trail, we’ll be regularly removing ticks—so having a reliable tool like this tick removal kit is essential.The included Tick ID card helped me confidently identify the ticks our dogs kept bringing in—they’re black-legged deer ticks, just as the card pointed out. These are much harder to remove than the dog ticks we were used to, often embedding deep into the skin and making clean removal difficult.While I already own several tweezers, the one included in this kit is high quality. But the star of the kit is undoubtedly the V-grooved stainless steel tick removal tool. It allows you to gently lift the tick without squeezing in venom or risking decapitation that could happen with sharp tweezers. Deer ticks in particular are tricky, but this tool really helps with better removal. I usually give the tick a little wiggle in different directions and lift gently a few times before giving a firmer pull—and it definitely improved our chance of a clean removal.I’ve used this tool regularly on our three large dogs and even on ourselves! I can’t wait for my guineas to grow up and (hopefully) start making a dent in the tick population.I highly recommend this kit to anyone dealing with ticks, especially pet owners.

Quality says it all
Quality tools. My dog had a tick recently and trying to remove a tick with some crappy tweezers sucked. With the Fork tool I’m able to easily pull the tick out. The bigger ones for sure. That makes then easier to use. Both tools come in a carrying case that you can keep track of. It’s only a matter of time before I get a tick on me and have to use this.

Remove ticks cleanly
It’s tick season again and I walk my dogs almost every day on a path with a lot of wild brush. I usually find a tick on one of my dogs every week or so. Although I haven’t actually needed to remove one since getting this removal kit, I can see that it definitely will be easier to use than a tweezer or credit card to try to remove the tick completely without leaving the mouth in the skin or removing a bit of skin from my dog. Even if I can’t remove it with gentle prying, I can isolate the tick from the skin and put some vegetable oil on the tick to suffocate it and get it to release from my dogs skin more easily. Hopefully I won’t find any more ticks on them, but when I do, this will be a better tool to use on them.

amazing product, great quality comes with everything you need 100% will remove ticks off your dogs or even yourself…. the tweezers are very sharp and have a good hold, I have a lot of nail tweezers and these are much better. I love that it came with an info card….the pictures are much clearer and better than google, now I know that what I found on my dog last year was definitely a tick. it shows you what kind which is also important. definitely a must buy ……I only wish w e had this sooner. after removing I cleanse the area with oregano oil and manuka honey. ticks carry many diseases, seriously run and get this, great price and I have never seen a set as good as these.

Small size, great for travel or home use
This is a great compact tick removal tool and card to help you identify what type it is. The size is really convenient to carry with you when your out and about in woody or grassy areas that might contain ticks, the identity card is about the same size as a credit card & the case that contains the tool is 5″ x 1 3/4″. Fits easily in a pocket, purse, glove compartment, drawer, ect. Overall. a handy tool to have just incase a tick bites into you- they are hard to grab and pull off, and I hate touching them! I haven’t had the chance (and hopefully won’t) to use it yet- but will update with more info if that time occurs.
