Perfect cage for my tinkering.
For my needs, this is the perfect cage. Yes it is quite small. I’m using it for a couple small house mice. The old old cage I had before was just about the same size. I wanted something similar in size. Initially the water bottle leaked but after shaking the tube like a mercury thermometer it seated the ball bearing and the leaking stopped. The food dish had a tab on the back to slide into a tab on the base wall.. that didn’t seem very secure so I used a little hot glue and glued it in place. I also hot glued a small water dish I made from a juice bottle lid. The TOP door I find very helpful. When my mice are in their other cage I can add food and water, etc in this care. The plastic base seemed tall for my mice to reach the bars. So I adding a Paint stirring stick, and affixing it with a zip tie gives them a ladder to explore more. For my application this is the perfect cage. I do recommend this cage for critters that are small. This also is a cage that is easy to modify. The plastic base I cut an opening and fashioned a passage doorway to my other older cage. Now their living space has doubled in size. This cage is cute size and has an exercise wheel. I added a proximity counter to the wheel to measure their rotations. I like modifying things to fit my needs. This small travel cage is the perfect platform for my tinkering.

Travel cage; wheel is useless
Several reviews complain that this cage is too small, even “ridiculously” small. To be clear, it’s meant to be a travel cage only, and it’s a perfectly fine size for that specific purpose. It’s useful also for temporarily housing a small animal while its cage is being cleaned. This cage would work well for one or two hamsters, gerbils, or mice (the cage bars are about a half-inch apart), or a single rat. It’s too small for a guinea pig and much too small for even a dwarf rabbit.Don’t be influenced by the wheel–it’s useless junk. It’s way too small for anything but a baby mouse, and also the attachment is very flimsy and prone to come apart. Finally, its spinning motion is hampered by friction. It’s just a gimmick to make the cage look like it has added value. I threw it away immediately as it only takes up space in the cage and adds nothing. The dish is really tiny and also has a flimsy clip that barely holds it in place. It works to hold a small amount of food, though it’s likely to spill if the cage is jostled about in transport. The water bottle is also tiny but adequate for the temporary nature of this cage and it does work. The door does not latch very tightly and a hamster or gerbil could potentially pop it open. This is easily solved though by bending the clip wires a little more with a pair of pliers so that they grip tighter.Assembly was easy and intuitive. It takes some strength and finessing to get the platic bottom to clip onto the wire top with all four clips, but once it’s on it’s on tightly and isn’t going to separate unexpectedly.This travel cage is perfectly serviceable for its intended purpose and works better and is much better ventilated than even expensive plastic travel cages.

Water Bottle won’t stay bite overall good
Love this little cage. I got it for my 2 little mice. It’s the perfect size for them, although I think if you have an animal anything bigger than a hamster, then it would be too small. Even a hamster might be a little big. The water bottle has a hard time staying on the cage like it’s too heavy or the clamp just isn’t tight enough, also it won’t stay up on the cage so it’s basically hitting the the bottom of the cage. Everything else works great though, great travel cage, wheel works great and looks cute.

Cheap garbage, don’t buy
This product is terrible. I was expecting the small size because it was only supposed to be for my hamster to take him places and while I was changing his bedding but there are a few key issues that make it unuseable. First, the lid doesn’t even snuggly shut. It’s very very loose and you could probably fix it by bending the tabs a little but there are other issues too. The second main issue is that the wheel is so cheap that it doesn’t even stay in place with the included disc clip. It falls to the bottom wire in the wire cage part without latching onto anything. Third, the water bottle definitely leaks water. Literally 3 pieces poorly manufactured without even a $0.05 rubber gasket to seal water. Fourth, this is a general issue but the entire thing is extremely cheap and poorly built. I know it’s like $16 but I think you could buy a small tote and fill it with the same things, not to mention shipping. $20 would get you way way further than this Chinese garbage. Good luck!

its cute
This product is super cute and super small. I would not use it as the mouses home home but rather a temporary place to stay during transport or cleaning. The bars are spaced a little too wide to keep wild mice in. We had a catch and release thing going but because the bars are too wide the mice escaped before we could release them away from our house. It did not work for me but it would easily work for a hamster or fat mouse

Travel cage short trips
Perfect for traveling. Don’t have to worry about hamster chewing out and getting squashed since it’s a metal cage. Definitely for short trips, this is not a permanent home situation cage. Wheel is very small I don’t even think a dwarf hamster could use it. That is the reason for 4 stars. Water bottle and food dish fine for what we use cage for.
