Decent dog food
Good quality food with good quality ingredients. Doesn’t smell bad, my dog didn’t seem to love it but he ate it well. He’s a picky eater. I cant imagine it tasted bad, it just wasn’t his thing. It’s a little dusty (or the bag I got was) but that wasn’t really a problem for me, it probably resulted from being knocked around during shipping. It had a nice crunch to it.

Making Canidae a Household Name
For months, I’ve researched and reviewed, around and about every brick and mortar establishment, up and down every aisle (both physical and metaphorical), the quality of our pups’ commercial dog food diet. Our dogs have tried (even liked) Eukanuba, Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Gentle Giant, Victor, Natural Balance and more, with minimal difference and effect. However, in our laborious journey to find a superior and economical dry dog food, we discovered the skin and coat sensitivity of our American-English Coonhound, Hank; chewing, itching, and rolling around. After reading multiple reviews and other independent sources (dogfoodadvisor.com) about the effects of diet on skin/coat health, I purchased Canidae All Life Stages dry dog food. Our Vizsla, Dwight, absolutely loved it, as did Hank. Unfortunately, Hank’s skin/coat problems remained. Both dogs seemed to love the taste, but I wasn’t happy with the same, persistent results. A couple weeks later and umpteen hours of research later, and I’ve settled on Canidae Grain Free Under The Sun Lamb dry dog food. Both dogs have had the same mouthwatering response to both Canidae formulas and Hank’s itching and irritation seems to be subsiding. If Hank’s skin/coat health continues on this healthy trajectory, I am ready to proclaim our consumer allegiance to Canidae Grain Free Under The Sun Lamb dry dog food. It is not a cheap dog food, but it is a frugal, quality, diet option for those fur babies whose hooman parents are concerned about dog health and the bottom line. I definitely recommend any and all Canidae dry dog food. For skin/coat health, Canidae Grain Free Under The Sun dry dog food has an excellent prognosis. Should Hank’s behavior, attitude, and appearance continue to improve over the next few days and weeks, the search for a budget-friendly, quality dog food is over; effectively making Canidae a household name.

It’s great food for my Doberman
She has been eating this brand since she was a puppy. I trust it. I’ll buy roast chicken taking all apart, dice it all up it last a week and I added it to her dry food.

Good quality food
Our large golden retriever has enjoyed this food for several years. She’ll usually get tired of a food and stop eating, but hasn’t with this. Good for our dog, hopefully good for yours too.

Been using Canidae since 2002! Our dogs are all thriving!
Our vet recommended Canidae dog food for our first German Shepherd/Husky back in 2002 He was allergic to chicken. He lived to almost 14 years old! We still use Canidae and our current pups are thriving on it too!🐾

It’s true! Not in a good way!
I tried it even after reading so many reviews and tried to sort out the good and bad that I read on this food. I actually put it on my subscription list. I received it and I am sorely disappointed by the quality of the food. I don’t know what happens in distribution but the food is terribly powdery. I scooped out a few bowls to mix in with my current food to adjust the ratio with their current dog food, which is also Canidae. It was All Life Stages which for the most part seemed to be okay, but I thought lamb might be less troublesome for one of my dog’s stomach (he has gas issues). I may be returning to the All Life Stages. Everything seems to look okay with the food but as soon as you scoop it up you get a lot of powdery breakdown. I guess, I’m going to have to use a sieve to get the kibble out versus the powder. Very disappointed. You do your research, you read the reviews, you pay good money, and you get crap anyway. I will be writing Canidae also about their product. If this is a distribution issue, then it needs resolution. To be honest, I am a little worried about feeding to the dogs at all. I may try this about a week or so and see how it affects my dogs, but if it isn’t good, I will unload this crap quickly. I can’t rate the flavor, because my dogs haven’t really tasted it yet. I may have to update with pictures and taste review.
