Best purchase ever
My cat is about 8.5 pounds and I got a small.I was skeptical. I admit it. But my cat, Jaws, needed surgery to remove a lump on her chest. I needed something to keep her from messing with her stitches. I bought this and a surgical onesie. I asked the vet to put both on her while she was still at their office. They did and I thought all was good.We got home and she had a bad reaction to the pain meds. Think extremely bad trip. In her panic she was able to slip out of the onesie but this collar stayed on. It’s so much more effective than the old, hard cone of shame!We are 11 days post surgery. The collar has stayed on. My cat has adapted to wearing it quite comfortably. She can eat, drink, clean her back legs and butt, but not get to her stitches. Bonus she’s an absolutely adorable space flower!We returned to the vet today and her stitches were removed. Her incision is healing well, thanks to this collar. We are keeping it on one more day since the vet advised her incision is probably very itchy post suture removal.I cannot imagine her recovery going so well without this cute little collar. Best of all, her lump was not mammary cancer, as we feared, but a mast cell tumor that is less likely to return. Margins were wide and clear and no additional treatment is needed, so hopefully I don’t need to use this collar again, but I know it will be effective if I need it.If you’re on the fence about this, just do it. I truly believe it made my cats recovery so much easier than it would have been with a hard cone or nothing at all.Update: about a week after getting her stitches removed, my cat was licking her incision to the point it became red and inflamed. Back to the collar! Surprisingly, she didn’t freak out when I put it back on her and has been wearing it for about 3 days now. Her incision is back on track to healing well. And she’s an adorable space flower for a little longer. If I could give this collar a million stars, I would. It continues to be a great product. (Bonus photo added of my space flower photoshopped in space! The photoshop possibilities are endless!)

Perfect fit, super soft so my cat can sleep and feels comfortable. Very easy to put on. My cat is very very skittish and hard to grab ( since I got her) plus high anxiety but with this soft cone it was literally 2 seconds and it was on. I highly recommend this product.

Works well, be careful of string safety.
Purchased for my Pomeranians spay recovery. The cone is soft enough and she’s comfortable in it when it comes to sleeping. I have not had to fully wash it yet but it’s easy to wipe off any food. I got the space design and love the look of it.Only issue I have is the strings. Feel like they should be more durable. Even though they’re on the underside my puppy was able to grab the string and chew on it. To the point that we had to pull the string out and restring it through the cone. So be mindful if your dog/cat is super curious that they can still reach the string in certain positions.

Excellent product. It is very comfortable on our cat and she doesn’t seem to mind it. We bought a second one to make sure that we always have one of these. She looks very cute in it, too, like a little flower. Highly recommended for when you need to keep your cat from licking.

Guilt free lick protection
This collar really helped my geriatric 18lb long hair chihuahua by preventing him from rubbing his eye with his paw. It’s comfortable and fits snugly but not too tight. I’ve never had to use the tightening cord. The best feature is that he can lay his head down comfortably and sleep, use the restroom without issue and drink water without it getting wet. I feel good about popping it on his head when I go out to work because it isn’t a giant, cold plastic cone. I used this post an eye surgery for long term care because he will always be able to injure the eye again now that he is very old. This collar prevents this with comfort which is key. It seems he cannot lick his groin or any of his paws in case those are areas you are trying to protect.

It does not work.
My small dog has a wound just under his ear that has to heal. To heal he must stop scratching it. Unfortunately he could still reach the wound with his back paw and scratch the wound open. I was so hopeful we could avoid those awful hard cones that the veterinarians put on. But it was the only thing that worked and I tried several alternative ones. It digs into his neck and makes it difficult to eat his canned food. I had to constantly clean while it was on him or it or it would get filthy.When he was neutered he wore a wonderful post surgical onesie. No cone needed. If I had counted on this to keep him from licking his post surgery site it would not have worked for that either. I say this because he would have still been able to lick that area while he had this on.Too bad. Something needs to be invented to replace the hard plastic cone for something like a wound on the neck.

WITHOUT HESITATION YOU NEED THIS
This absolutely just saved my life. The plastic cone from the doctor was horrific, she would NOT accept it no matter how much gabapentin or how long I tried. I was literally up watching her 24/7 to make sure she didn’t scratch, the plastic cone simply was not an option. I was skeptical of this one, but I put it on about an hour after gabapentin when she popped her head up for a second mid sleep. She didn’t fight it at all, she immediately fell back asleep and used it as a pillow. When she really did wake up she was a bit skeptical, but nothing like the plastic. It was accepted within 5 minutes. She can walk freely, she went up and down the stairs as soon as she found the technique in 2 minutes, eating and drinking no problem. She’s a really small cat, and my litter box is a little tall so the collar gets stuck and I had to makeshift a step. Other than that, it’s perfect. This is the first time I’ve had relief in days and can trust she’s safe and won’t scratch. Her incision is below her ear/at the jawline so I was extra worried. I would give this 100 stars if I could.

It’s just like the description and picture. It has good puffiness to it, and fabric seems good quality. Easy to wipe off stains from food and poop. It looks so cute on my foster kitty and it kept him away from licking his surgical area after being neutered. He liked it much better than the plastic cone as it allowed him to eat/drink more easily and have better vision.
