Works well and gives peace of mind!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is really helpful on hot days. I take my dog to work and there’s lots of hot pavement until we get to the nice grassy area. I was able to take my dog on a longer walk in peak afternoon heat with less stress on him. He’s a medium size dog with fairly thick fur, but this world great at keeping his belly cooler which makes a difference when that heat is reflecting up from the pavement. Putting it on was easy and he wasn’t uncomfortable with the ice being up against him. The mesh ice pack pockets are breathable and there was no sliding about thanks to the ability to attach the vest to the collar. He has a barrel chest and is 73 pounds. The size Large is a perfect fit!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this specifically because it’s not a full coverage vest and of course because it has ice packs in all the right areas. I have a high dollar cooling vest that is worthless because it evaporates in the heat almost immediately and if you can’t keep dousing it with ice water your dog is wearing a full coverage hot vest. Functionality:This will keep my Rottweiler ( who is very humidity/heat intolerant) good for 2-3 miles in intense humidity..in the 75 degree mark at 6 AM. There are back up ice packs, so if you would need to go out again soon you can replace the melted ones with the frozen ones. Nothing is perfect for intense heat except keeping your dog indoors, but this is the best option for cooling that I have found for my dog.Weight:It is not heavy with the ice packs on.

Get this for your dog!
My dog is a huge fan and I highly recommend! He gets excited to put the ice vest on and it helps him stay cool/ stop panting faster.My only note is the mesh material is already seeing signs of wear and tear after a week since they ask you to slide ice packs in and the corner of the plastic gets caught in the mesh. I would recommend a slightly better material that’s more sturdy there but overall the vest serves its purpose

Fabulous summer gear
Spent years and $$$ trying to keep my 110 lb GSD-mix cool in No CA summers. The other type ,the sort where you wet it, wring it out and drape it across the dogs back, was useless- just a wet blanket. Doubtful it did anything to cool my RudiBoy.Finally here is something that makes sense, works great to cool him and to keep him cool, is very lightweight and breathable vs restricting air circulation and hey, it just plain works!!!I put one set of frozen cubes (grateful for the 2 sets of ice cube sheets provided!) into the harness whenever we go for a walk in any temp above 75°. Rudi has an exceptionally thick coat being an Eastern European Shepherd (GSD x Russian bear dog) so suffers in any warm temps. Of course if it’s too warm we stay indoors. Walking the usual routes I noticed he doesn’t overheat as easily with this harness, by far. An exceptionally noticeable difference. Upon returning home I remove the leash only, keeping this harness on while he cools down from the walk. The amount of time it takes til he stops panting has decreased dramatically! He seems so much more comfortable with this cool harness!This is a very intelligent design, placing the pockets for the various ice sheets just where they are needed, and no excess material where it’s not.Here’s the design:- The dark grey outer material is nylon, so lightweight and cool. Minimum coverage, no unnecessary material.- Inner pockets to hold the ice sheets are light grey/off-white mesh on the inner dog side, to allow max transfer of the cooling ice. The ice sheets keep nicely within their pockets by a strip of Velcro at top openings. So far, after a week’s usage, seems to work great, no surprise openings. Overall the entire thing is quite impressive in how well it’s constructed, how well it’s sewn and made, down to the smallest details.- The ice sheets themselves are plastic sheets with square pockets filled with hygienic water. The longest, the chest sheet, is 2 x 6 squares, the 2 rib sheets are 2 x 4 squares and the collar 2@ 1 x 4 squares. Seems to do the trick!- The collar, which is more u shaped than round to fit better, can be used independent of the chest part. It’s thin enough to keep on til it melts (even over an hour indoors after walks) with the dog’s regular collar on.- The rest of the body harness attaches to the collar with a strap that runs from the chest part thru a simple plastic rectangular closure on the collar, turning over onto itself with Velcro. This is therefore adjustable to your dog’s body length. There’s plenty of leeway for adjustment and so far the Velcro seems sturdy and holding well.- The chest part is like the long part of an inverted “T”, where the 2 shorter sides are furthest from the neck, wrapping over the ribs to close , with multiple Velcro bands, over his back. There are so many Velcro closures I’m sure they will fit any variety of dog breeds in girth. Like most German Shepherd varieties, Rudi has a broad chest at 37″, yet the Velcro provides not only ample room to close the harness, but they are spaced in groups far enough apart that I can run his poop bag holder and even the length of the leash between them. Very useful, practical.I am not only satisfied with this cooling harness, I am totally impressed and my dog is far happier being cooler than either without, or with anything else we’ve tried. Highly, highly recommend!!!

Good BUT… it can be better
Great product BUT…. I have to returned because my dog HATED the vest, the collar was great and she did not mind wearing it, as a matter of fact worked wonderful to cooling her but the set is designed to wear together, the vest has an attachment to hock the collar. You can wear the collar alone but not the vest due to the design. The part that hocks to the collar will hang if not hocked so no good. This product will be great if they come with a better design with parts can be truly wore alone or together. However, we bought the collar only from the same company and is great.

Highly recommend!
Fits well.Easy to take out and put in new ice packs (can even just use your own ice but the included ones are nicer)Successfully keeps him cool!He didn’t seem to mind it at first and even likes it after he got used to it. he didn’t try to wiggle or paw it off and now even comes running over when I show it to him.Stays on well even during longer walks and him zooming around the park.

Love this for my double-coated dog!
Love it. This was exactly what I was looking for to cool down my long-haired Japanese spitz, especially as he’s getting older and has a heart valve issue. I did not want a vest that I would have to dampen with water as those don’t penetrate through his double coat, and would just leave me with a damp dog. I let my dog wear this on walks and then keep it on afterwards for him to cool down. I’m especially happy this arrived before the heat wave on the east coast this week. Also love the extra set of ice packs!Don’t let his expression fool you — he’s noticeably panting a lot less!
