Helped our dogs get through fireworks
We used these to help our dogs get through our neighborhood’s rowdy Independence Day celebrations.The dogs (a Belgian Malinois and a Chihuahua mix) were still very nervous and clingy, but they did MUCH better than they have in other years – no messes on the floor and even though they were nervous, they were less nervous than I’ve seen them in other years.Recommended!

I have seen a big difference since starting these!!
I have a 6 year old Yorkie that tends to be anxious (mostly when the doorbell rings and when we are out for walks). Since starting these calming chews (that she loves and thinks are treats!), I have noticed an improvement in her behavior (much less barking when someone is at the door and overall much calmer when we are out walking). She is also a picky eater and doesn’t always take treats, but I have not had any issue with her taking these – she really likes the taste!

I’ve used the previous Calm product from Deley Naturals for years for our two hyperactive and anxious dogs. This new and improved formula works even better – my car rides have had a lot less panting and barking since using these!

I ordered these for my dog specifically for situational anxiety, things like vet visits, grooming appointments, or the rare occasions when I actually leave the house for more than a few hours. I work from home, and he’s very much attached to me, so daily use was never the plan here. I wanted something I could reach for when I knew a stressful situation was coming, not something I’d have to commit to long-term.The chews themselves are soft, easy to break if needed, and apparently very tasty. Zero resistance on that front. I didn’t notice any stomach issues, which is always my first concern with supplements like this. What I did notice was a definite softening of his usual anxious behaviours. Less pacing, less frantic energy, and more of an “okay, I’m not thrilled, but I can cope” vibe. He was still very much himself, just not spiralling.This isn’t a sedative, and I think that’s actually the point. He wasn’t groggy or out of it, and his personality didn’t change. It just took the sharp edges off situations that normally send him into high alert. For vet visits in particular, that alone makes these worth having around. I also appreciate that they work well for ad hoc use, even though the product mentions daily use as ideal.If you’re expecting instant calm or dramatic transformation, this probably isn’t that. But if you’re looking for something gentle that helps your dog settle without flattening them emotionally, these do exactly that. I like having them in the cupboard as a just-in-case option. My floof is still attached to me at the hip, but at least now he handles it a little better when I leave.

I was a little skeptical about these calming chews but apparently they work! I have a two year old, toy australian shepherd who gets terrible anxiety when we go for car rides. I have no idea why, my last dog absolutely loved car rides, but this one shakes in fear so I always feel guility about bringing him in the car with me.I jumped at the chance to try out these chews as I was curious to see if they would actually work. I’m not sure what the magical ingredient is in them that makes them work (at least on my dog). They are made in the USA, so we know there are some standards for quality of ingredients in them. He’s never turned down a chew, they are pretty soft, and don’t smell too bad. These don’t act as a sedative, as he’s not acting weird in any other way or high, but still can be a little rambunctious when we get home. They just make him less anxious (and not shakey) in the car. Dosing is two chews once a day. I think this supplement might be worth a shot if your dog has anxiety issues like mine.

I have an 7.5 y/o German Shepherd Dog who is, for the most part, pretty calm while indoors. Of course, there are exceptions to this and therefore I’ve had to use calming products in the past.There’s no doubt in my mind that these are far more potent than any of the calming treats I’ve used before. My girl has been rather anxious these last few days (to the point of whining outside the bathroom door), but despite having these treats on-hand I’m also one of those people that’s pretty reluctant to “drug my dog” unless necessary.Well today was the day that I felt it was necessary due to her incessant whining (likely caused due to me being unwell and under a lot of psychological stress) was making me feel extremely overwhelmed and agitated.Anyhow, she’s 65 lbs and at this weight she is recommended 3 of these chews a day — I gave her two, which still knocked her out (for the entire day). In the future I’ll likely start with one and go from there because I’m not entirely sure if she really needed so many.With past calming supplements I’d follow the directions to a T and they never resulted in this level of relaxation. This is why I’m convinced they’re quite a bit more potent than the average product on the market. ☺️Additionally, my girl has a sensitive stomach and I was concerned that she’d have issues (this has happened with previous supplements) but her bowel movements have been normal.I also always appreciate a prolonged best before date, especially on products like this that aren’t intended for long-term/daily use (unless directed by a veterinarian, as written on the label).If I -had- to make an ‘issue’ out of anything it’s that they don’t smell all that appealing, but I’m fortunately not the intended recipient.. 😂 My dog certainly had no complaints.

For us, there are three sides to dog chews: whether the dog likes them, the claimed benefits, and the trustworthiness. As a brief summary, if you can’t feed it to your dog, chews are useless. The claimed benefits give you an ease of mind, but they are rarely directly observable or measurable. And if you can’t find information about the source, they are not trustworthy. Now, let’s dig deeper.Most of the times we use dog chews, we use them as treats with additional benefits, but I can fairly say that we can never really observe the benefits, possibly because we do not have any serious problems to start with, or in this case, because we can’t tell if a behavior that seems to be improved is really thanks to this item. Despite his old age, our dog still has separation anxiety. We feel like calming chews in general seem to help, but they don’t completely remove his anxiety, so their effectiveness is not really measurable for us, but we feel they help.Another important thing is whether we can give it to our dog and whether he accepts them, but that is a low bar for us because our aging golden retriever enjoys anything we give him as treats by our hand, and he did not have any problems with this one either.Then comes two other issues that might separate a product from another: price and trustworthiness, but I should say they usually counteract each other. For trustworthiness, I check the manufacturer and the information they provide. For this product, they clearly indicate the country of origin (made in the USA), and while they do not provide a phone number or an address, they have a company website and an email address. The company website has a chat functionality, and their Facebook page has a 1-800 phone number. So, having some company information and contact information provide a degree of trust for us. And the price seemed okay too at $29 CAD at the time of order (product page and price were not available at the time of writing).The chews have a lighter color and a soft/moist feeling. The ingredients list contain a long list of items that are commonly used for their calming effect on humans as well. The chew sizes are good for our golden retriever, and I imagine small breeds would not have too much of a problem munching them down either. Overall, we are happy with it.
