Not chewy deterrent.
Not chewy deterrent at ALL! They absorb okay,but I could have gotten better pads cheaper.

Yeah… my puppy loves chewing these up. She has plenty of toys, but frequently opts for these instead. It’s unfortunate. I had hoped these would stop her ripping her potty pads up.

They don’t do what they’re advertised to do.
Typically I’ve had great experience the Glad charcoal pee pads when I had my Pomeranian. She was 15yro and well trained to always use the pee pads and she wasn’t the type to chew on anything besides her food. Recently I adopted a new puppy, a 6wk old Bichon Frise, she isn’t potty trained or trained to go on the pads plus she’s constantly chewing on everything including her pee pads. So when I saw that Glad had these charcoal pads with chew deterrent and they’re priced more than half cheaper than my usual brand for the same amount of pads I didn’t hesitate to purchase them. I didn’t look at the customer reviews because I’d had bought some other type from Glad in the past that worked out fine. First I will address the chew deterrent, it doesn’t work at all. She chews on these too so whatever it is that’s supposed to deter that issue it doesn’t work at all. The second issue I have is that these seem to leak and they don’t absorb as well as my usual brand and so I’m using two on top of one another which defeats the purpose of saving money if I have to use more than one. I just got my second delivery of them and when we run low I will be going back to my regular brand.

DO NOT BUY – Horrible Leaking from small breed puppy
I have a 3, almost 4 month yorkshire Terrier. She is barely 4lbs. She is still in the chewing phase so I bought these in hopes to stop the chewing of puppy pads. She is a small breed and pees small amounts each time. With a fresh puppy pad and only 1 pee spot, the bottom of these are completely leaked through and soaking wet on the bottom. I am having to double them which is crazy.I have been using this brand since she was 8 weeks except I was using the green pack of Glad charcoal puppy pads. Those do NOT leak unless she has used the pad about 5 or 6 times and it’s still very minimal, usually just right on the edge. DO NOT buy these chew deterrent ones. They are horrible. Go get these in the green pack. Much more durable.

They do the trick, but not chew proof.
I have two French bulldog puppies and they share a crate at night. I put two of these down in their crate every night and sometimes they get chewed and sometimes they don’t. They don’t really deter them from chewing them up. But when they do, they absorb well and work like a charm.

Not Leakproof
The product works in that they are the only ones my puppy won’t chew up but they definitely leak to the point the tray I place them on has puddles after one use. Considering my boy is only 5 pounds I can’t imagine if he had a larger bladder. They also don’t absorb odors.
