Easier to put on
The reason why I say it’s easier to put on is because I don’t have to bend my dog’s legs every which way in order to place her leg through the armhole. The material is very soft. I think I could have ordered a size down because it is a little bit too big. Velcroing it is a little bit confusing. However, overall I like it and my dog tolerates it.

I was so happy to have found this!
My dog is a cheagle. Beagle and Chih. His legs are very short. His neck is stocky and his chest is wide! Always had a problem finding a pc of clothing that fit right. He’d back out of the sweater/shirt no matter what . This new item is modeled after a thunder shirt. It wraps around their body and they feel secure. Velcro strips keep the shirt secure and in place. The problem I found was the Velcro strips don’t stay down, they curl up on the ends. The strips, curled up attached itself to a blanket or two. And it scared him. He got fearful when he couldn’t get himself free. Nice material, soft and warm. Fit was good. Too bad the strips were too long!

This fleece coat might not be practical
There is no opening to attach the lead to the dog’s collar or harness. I might be returning this item for this reason. Otherwise it is a good cold weather coat.

Get it, buy it!
This is fabulous! I rescued a 50-pound dog who has never had a sweater, been on a leash, or been taken for a walk. She doesn’t like a cover on her either. Now that we’ve decided to keep her, two months later, she is walking on a leash and wearing this sweater. I like it because I can keep it loose since she doesn’t like to be covered, so she barely even notices it’s on. PERFECT. Also, I can put a leash on her without it being bulky or unsafe, which is extremely important so the leash doesn’t come off.

Did not work for us
I ordered a medium for my 6 mo old JRT. It was tight around his middle and not quite long enough. The neck was too big and he could get it in his mouth and got his lower jaw stuck. The only thing I like about it was it was easy to put on

Star Trek sweater
My 12 pound senior dog feels very comfortable in it.. I will say she didn’t like how I have to put the sweater on by sliding it through her head (like a shirt).. but I think she’ll understand soon and not be afraid of it.
