Looks great and cat loves it!
Our kitten really loves this, I wasn’t sure if he’d take to it but he loves the little ball that dangles from the top. Now he has been climbing up and draping himself over the top of it. It was easy to assemble and seems to be good quality. It also looks really cute in our home versus a typical scratching post.

Adorable but with a big flaw
This cactus scratch post is adorable and my cats love it. Both the scratching post body and the nubby top. However, it’s rather light, there is no weight at the base, so it falls over all the time. About every time I re-enter the room I have to pick it up off the floor and stand it up. My cats aren’t particularly big but they aren’t small (about 12 lbs but normal size) so maybe it would work well for kittens or smaller cats if they don’t scratch too aggressively. Trying to think of a way to weigh it down better since they like it so much.

Our cats love it and it’s surprisingly durable
We received the short version of this post as a gift several years ago and we were so pleased with it that we’ve now switched to the tall version and have purchased a new one annually over the last three years. We have 4 very active scratchers and this post seems to satisfy their need to be destructive as they no longer pay any attention to the furniture.Over the course of a year they will absolutely decimate this post, but that is far more time then we ever got out of any alternative. Given the price the build quality is quite good and the materials hold up exceptionally well. After about 10 months the rope starts to fray and they will eventually get it to unravel, but we’ve been able to increase the longevity by disassembling and flipping the post to move the frayed section to the bottom.There are sellers on Amazon who have green sisal rope and we did try re-stringing once, but the end result didn’t hold up as well as the original and the time required to re-string and clean up far outweighed any savings. Ultimately it’s been much more cost effective to purchase a new post every year.

Easily destroyed
It’s cute andheavy enough for my averages size cat, however she showed NO interest in it for 2 years ( likely a reflection on her, not the post itself). The reason it gets 3 stars is because in the week she actually showed interest in it, she DESTROYED it. I don’t think it’s robust enough for even average sized cats.
