Now, with this bed-car seat, even short trips to the vet are quiet!
I have owned several different car seats for our dogs over the years to help make trips less stressful for each dog. I have learned: know your dog’s personality well before you invest in one of these car seats.I upsized to this larger dog car seat for our car trips with our 100% blind, 30 lb., 6-year-old Pomsky. Our dog is very compliant, gentle natured, and not destructive in the least way, so I had no concerns about a soft cover or foam construction materials.I wanted her to be able to stretch out, lay down comfortably, and relax enough to sleep. When awake, if she can rest her head on the sidewall of the dog car seat, she is more relaxed. Having her lightly restrained is tolerable for her and she is not resistant. The belts that come with this seat allow for her to do all the above.The bottom-backside of the base of the car seat has two large fabric tabs to thread your vehicle seatbelt through to help secure the dog car seat bottom through. Be sure to tighten the seatbelt to ‘lock’ it in place.The top back of the dog car seat has sewn into the cover a place for two detachable seat belts intended for two dogs, which are included. The seat belts are very long, in my opinion. I wrapped one around the headrest of the seat hosting the dog car seat and the other I attached to our dog’s body harness.The design and quality construction of this dog car seat are exceptional. The very soft, removable, washable cover envelops a firm, foam sponge foundation frame which surrounds a softer foam, seat cushion where your dog would sit or lay down.The yielding sidewalls are very helpful for entry, exit, and firm enough to comfortably support your dog’s head. There are pockets on each side to hold small items like a collapsible dog water bowl, leash, wipes, brush, treats, toys, etc.Another dog car seat with firm, tall sides gave our dog anxiety because she was boxed inside the seat. The whining, whimpering, and crying wore out everyone’s nerves and was almost intolerable. I had to find a solution. Since she is blind and literally cannot see out the window when sitting upright when we traveled anywhere, we had gotten to the point of not taking her out. Now, with this bed/car seat, even short trips to the vet are quiet! We did not hear one single peep out of her yesterday heading to the vet until hubby parked the car! For us, this is a game-changer!I have not laundered the car seat cover yet but have no qualms or concerns. I would wash on gentle and hang it to air dry, which is how I wash all covers such as this one.The photos in this dog car seat advertisement are accurate representations of the product I received.

Nice seat
This dog seat is really nice. It has a side pocket on each side. It takes a few days for it to fully expand from its packaging, but once it does it’s pretty nice. The ONLY problem I have with this seat is that it does not strap in as easily as the one I replaced. The seat belt strap must go underneath and through two loops. This can be a bit of a chore if moving the seat in a hurry. My old one strapped across the back piece making it a breeze to put in and out. This one takes a bit more work. Dogs love it though.

Thick Comfy Booster Seat
This memory foam booster seat is well made and top quality. I let it sit for a couple days to puff up before installing it into my car. I have a 2017 Ford Fusion so the backseat is large, and I can still fit 2 people back there even with this seat hooked up.I love that it has a removable and washable cover! We usually take my girl to walk on nature trails so she can get a little messy. I also like that this has a pocket on each side for holding her things while we travel instead of just leaving her leash on the seat.I do wish that this had a dip on each side so that it was easier for her to get in and out of, but the sides are soft and flexible, so I just fold it down for her to step in. She weighs about 25 pounds and this fits her needs for both long and short trips. She is a long dog (17″ back) with shorter legs, so 35 pounds seems like an appropriate estimated weight limit per the listing, but it would also depend on your dog’s body type. For longer legged dogs closer to that 35 pound mark, you may want to size up to the bigger seat, especially if you plan on using this for road trips.It came with three straps, so you have one for securing the seat to the headrest, one as a safety seatbelt to hook to a harness or collar, and an extra one just in case. Depending on how tight you make the headrest strap, and the shape of your backseat, the booster seat may lean back. I wound up putting a towel back there to keep it sitting more upright for her.Overall, I’m very happy with the quality and function of the seat and would recommend this for other pet owners!

Sides of booster seat are too soft
Sides of booster seat should be firmer, so when the dog leans against the seat, the side doesn’t push out.I was driving down the street (using this booster seat for the first time) when my dog rested against the left side of the seat, which pushed it out enough to push my car out of gear (from drive to the low gear) while I was driving.My car’s engine suddenly made a terrible noise and then I realized I had to push the gear back from left to right (from gear M” to “D”) and keep holding the side of the booster seat to support it so it wouldn’t keep pushing the gear out of place, even though the seat itself was centered correctly and attached by the seatbelt.I returned the booster seat since it was a driving hazard (unless used in the backseat but I’ve always used other booster seats of the same size in the front with no problem, since they had a firm, supportive side that wouldn’t push out when the dog gently leaned on it). My dog is under 35 pounds, so the sides shouldn’t lean out into the center of the car (and hit the gear) so easily!
