How accurate is the GPS? There is no GPS signal indoors, right?
GPS drift is about 16 ft. For best performance: Place your fence in a wide open area(avoid tall buildings/trees).Recalibrate occasionally for better accuracy. No GPS signal indoors, but there is GPS signal in open areas outdoors in general.
What should I do before I use app to set up a wireless dog fence?
Use it outdoors in an open area for enough GPS signal1. Make sure the collar is full of charge 2. Dowload the PurpleEfence App 3. Enabling bluetooth both in mobile and the collar 4. Read user manual and see the guide video before the first use.
What if my phone loses connection with the collar due to distance?
No worries. Once connected to the collar’s Bluetooth, you can set up a wireless fence in the app. The collar will automatically reconnect when back in range, and it will still work with the set fence even if the app disconnects with enough GPS
I need to use wireless fence every day at least 8-10 hours. Should I charge the collar every day?
Yes. The collar can be fully charged in 2-3 hours, if you use it with GPS on, it is recommended to charge the collar once a day. With GPS on, the collar can work for 20 hours. The remote control can standby for 30 days.

Best perimeter collar for stubborn dogs.
Pretty much an Apple Watch for dogs! We have a Weimaraner and wow have we tried MANY perimeter collars. This is far the best. We love that it tracks his steps and surprises us how active our boy is. Life changer for our dog to safely play on our property. Battery stays charged and keeps our hard headed Weim on our land. He has been know to be a car chaser but this collar has stopped the bad behavior. The levels of warnings are adjustable along with the collar. Appreciate the fact that the collar is waterproof which has been helpful when we are hiking. Great value compared to others we have purchased.

One limitation you need to know about.
I actually give this collar a 4 star rating, but I want you to read this review and be aware of a limitation. The only problem I have found is the GPS satellite connection. The first day I set this up, it was cloudy and I could not get a good GPS signal. I was about to send it back, but I tried the next day when it was clear out, and I got a good signal. After that, on a cloudy day it is fine knowing the following. Here is the big limitation. When my dog is in the house, of course the collar loses GPS. When my dog goes out the door, and beelines straight for the GPS fence, he gets through it every time. The collar takes a few minutes to re-find the GPS signal and allow your boundary to work. Now that I know this, I am good with it as I know the collar must be out in the open for a few minutes before it works. I also have a cheaper, much less feature GPS collar, but it finds the GPS signal within 10 seconds of going outside. This Meowant collar should do the same thing, but instead, it takes much longer to reset itself to the boundary. After that few minutes, it is good to go.

If you need certainty this isn’t the one.
I tried this collar with the intention of being able to leave it on the dog giving her access to our acreage.The app seemed to sync up fine and I really like the screen display. It was easy to read and battery life seemed good.Setting the perimeter up was fairly straightforward and the unit seemed fine after I established my location (you must do this for it to recognize where it is)The problem we had was this unit just didn’t work consistently, it was always powered on but it just didn’t recognize our dog was outside of the perimeter which for us and our neighbors was unfortunate as she killed neighbors chickens.We do live in a somewhat rural setting and I wasn’t sure why we kept having issues but I eventually succumbed to the idea of buying the expensive units with the monthly charge which what a huge selling point for this unit.I tried to return it and was never provided a label. Fortunately Amazon made it right.I would be leery if it is important that your animals never get out without your consent. For us this unit is too inconsistent in its function.

Good value, effective product, requires training
The collar takes two or three hours to fully charge. You can set up a fence using the collar or using the app. I used the app for iPhone. You add your dog’s profile, with their breed, height/length/weight. You can pinpoint where you’d like the fence to run. I have two large trees on my property and set the fence inside the edges of the two trees. I wanted the dog to stay away from a faulty area of my fence behind a shed and stay away from my chickens coop. You can set a general perimeter and then go in and fine tune it. I have a fully fenced yard but 2/3 of it is very old wood that’s breaking down. My energetic laboratory could easily knock it down or dig under it, which is why l wanted to try an electric fence. I did not test the ability of the electric fence underneath my two large trees because l’d prefer she stop digging around under them.You can’t just set it up and expect your dog to understand how it works. You have to put your dog on a leash and teach the boundary lines repeatedly. When people say they don’t work, l would guess they aren’t adhering to training. My lab picked up the system fairly quickly and l rewarded her consistently for bouncing back into the inside perimeter after a buzz correction. Training daily for four weeks was successful.There is a lag in loading, which is likely due to GPS coming from indoors to outdoors. I found that this is solved by giving the system a few moments to buffer.
