Not a Huge Difference but Still on our First Jar
I have two dogs that have different anxiety issues. One is on prescription medicine because she will hurt herself during thunderstorms and other stressful events. The other one just goes and hides and licks himself whenever he is bored or needs attention. We started giving them each 1 hemp treat at night before bed. It seems to help ease them into shutting down for the night and keeps them calmer throughout the night. It doesn’t replace the prescription meds on the tough nights but definitely helps to level out their moods. The dogs love the flavor and literally drool all over the floor waiting for their treats. The dogs weigh 60-65 lbs.

No massive gastric upset…loose or otherwise but has caused reverse in mood. Extremely active and hyper. Possibly body systems are actively over hyped. Test before needing.

I have tried many other brands of calming chews but keep coming back to this one. Have 2 high energy pups who want to play nonstop and don’t want to go to sleep. These settle them down so everyone can rest. They have a strong scent and the pups can sniff them out if they are in my pocket, hand, etc. They must taste really good. They would eat more if I would let them. I accidentally dropped the canister, thankfully the lid stayed on, as it was a full blown piranha attack. They were trying to get the lid off so they must be good. I usually try to give them the chews about 1/2 to 1 hour before time to settle down. Based on the pups size, and according to the chart, I Normally give them 2 each unless they are super hyper then I give them 3. Might seem a lttle pricey, but I’m splitting a canister between 2 dogs so it doesn’t last as long as I would hope. however I don’t wanna be without these so it’s worth it to get some sleep.

no effects in my 80 lb 2 year old rescued dog
My dog is an 80 lb 2 year old shepard-rotweiler mix rescued from a pound at 1 year old. She had a placement that didn’t work out and was returned at 1 1/2 years old. I adopted her then and have had her for 6 months. She’s very sweet inside my house. Gentle with my kids and after initial hesitation, sweet with adults. She was initially very vigilant all the time and specifically afraid of people and other dogs on walks: She would bark and pull within 30 feet of them. I tried giving her treats when she first saw people and dogs on walks but wasn’t close enough to get upset. This mostly worked with people (we can now get within 5 feet of them without negative effect) but a only a little with other dogs (barks and pulls for a few seconds but then stops and looks at me for a treat – but still can’t get closer than 30 feet). The Vet recommended prozac but I have been hesitant. I have tried giving her increasing doses of MAX Hemp over the past few weeks. At first, it seemed it had sedative effects, as my dog seemed to sleep more. Recommended dosage was 3 tabs/day. I started with 1 tab 2x/day and reached 3 tabs twice per day. I have seen absolutely no effect on her reactivity to other dogs or her heighten vigilance.

My dogs seem much calmer than usual. My husband and I have a 65lb dog and a 95lb dog. This is a wonderful product – With other treats you have to worry about additives and what all you’re giving your dogs. There were very few ingredients, I know what they all were without looking them up, and all ingredients know are safe for my dogs. I also like the fact that even though we have a very lg. dog (approx. 100lbs) we don’t have to give him a lot of treats – just 2 for him and 1 for the smaller dog. The smaller dog loves the taste! The bigger one does sometimes, other times I think he knows it’s more for medicinal purposes than a treat, that or he is so smart he knows if he doesn’t eat it I’ll cover it in peanut butter for him and he gets a double treat, lol.Thank you guys for the Follow-up! Really helps calm my dog
This product has been a life-saver! Our old dog has been very anxious, both day and night. At night she got so bad she would wake us up several times during the night (as bad a having a newborn baby in the house) sometimes keeping us up for an hour or more. She is about 14 years old, deaf, and is also diabetic. We have tried other hemp products, with some success in the past but less success recently. These Max Calming treats with hemp and melatonin have been amazing. We give her one at bedtime and she has been sleeping until early morning. It has brought all of us so much relief. Sleeping through the night is such a relief, for all of us. I am aware of cautions about melatonin and insulin resistance so we are only giving her one at bedtime. She still has some anxiety during the day, but that is easier to deal with than losing sleep. So far no indications of changes in her need for insulin after meals.
