The material of this is not cooling at all, if anything, I think it’s going to make your dog hotter. It also runs really big.

Beat the heat for my dog
This was a life saver for my dog this summer. He was having a health issue that the vets couldn’t pin down first thinking it was an allergy then skin cancer. My Border Collie desperately wanted to go to the ranch but the heat was really giving him a bad time his skin couldn’t take the heat. I got this vest in hopes of giving him back some of his freedom and being able to go with me like he had done for 9 years.Ok here’s how it workedIt fit beautifullyIt is well made, top qualityWell worth the moneyIt is nice looking and fit wellI followed the instructions on the ice packs and wetting the vest and putting in fridgeHe didn’t mind wearing it and wasn’t bothered by the 100 degree weather (we both tried to stay in the shade as much as possible)I kept the vest wet and we were Abe to attend to the horses and get home happily.The vet was very pleased that it had worked for him. I will definitely use it again next hot summer on him.It functioned just as well as the item was advertised.

Lifesaver!!
This vest has been a lifesaver…literally! I have two dogs, one is a goldendoodle who seriously overheats during and after exercise. I walk my dogs a few miles each morning, and Milo can spend hours laying on any cold surface he can find, panting and drooling terribly, as well as sometimes vomiting up the water he’s drunk. Recovery time for him is scary sometimes!I drench this vest with cool water and wring it out before putting it on my dogs. They stay cool throughout our walks, even on a day when it was 95 degrees! When we get home, I leave it on Milo for about 15 minutes just to be safe but the stressful panting and drooling are gone!Another cool feature is the dual zippers, which give you an added inch or so. My dogs are each around 40 lbs. I tried large vests for them according to the measurement chart but ended up returning those for mediums, which fit perfectly! WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

The item sits askew not well made
This product is surely only a gimmick. The ice packs look like they are packed in cellophane, not going to last long.The harness that attaches around the belly is loose not sewn to the unit, so it constantly shifts while walking the dog. It had minimal effect on a hot day.

Save your money!
Poor design. It slides all over the place. The gel packs cause it to shift too much. Gel packs are cheap as well. I have used it twice now while walking my dog and I spent most of the walk trying to adjust the harness. Not worth it!

Leg Straps Needed
Similar to other complaints, the vest slides to the side. I corrected this with leg straps. I used garter/ sheet straps with suspended type clamps. It worked. They need to be around 24 inches. Mine were adjustable 14-28. Another problem is the inner liner pulls out of the chest snap holes…a pain but does affect function. The finally things is, does it cool. It seems to but I can’t touch for it lasting longer than an hour.

Looked like my dog was more uncomfortable and hot than chill
The ice packs an are so tiny and basically worthless. The vest itself dries so quick, I just kept taking it on and off to soak in water. I wish I hadn’t purchased this.

Although I measured my dog’s neck and chest before ordering, I might have purchased too large a size, as it doesn’t ride on her back, but slips off to the side. Otherwise, it seems of good quality, and I liked the ice packs. The system for adjusting the length of the neck and belly straps was awkward, but hopefully only has to be done once. The straps also aren’t as long as I’d have liked, as they don’t give much range of adjustment.

Sizing is off!!!I really like this concept for my senior husky but I’ve tried different sizes and both are off. Due to this, I’ll need to return both.
