Better for a wide dog
The cloth fit poorly so the ice pack slid to the side. The cloth remained cool and the ice pack frozen for the duration of a 25 minute walk in 80 degree Arizona weather. My frenchie has a 16 in neck and weighs 29 pounds. This item may be better suited to an animal with a wider back. The item was sturdy and worked well as a harness. I wish it had stayed in place better.

Happy Frenchie
I have a happy Frenchie . My Brutus is a stout boy. Hes a 30lb French bulldog, so I couldn’t go by size alone. His neck wouldn’t fit most vests but this design fit him perfectly. Hes surviving the Florida heat!!!!

Only ONE gel pouch, not two, as is shown in the videos
This jacket only comes with one freezer gel pouch at the top of the back, whereas the videos advertising the product show it comes with 2 freezer gel pouches, one for each side of the dog’s body.I test drove this item today in my apt. hallway and here’s my reaction. I ordered a Medium for my slim 25 lb. beagle. I am not sure about the sizing. The length is good, but the body is huge. When I put the coat on dry, it seemed fine. But when I wet the coat and inserted the gel pack, I discovered that the coat slides around while the dog walks. I think if it had had the original two gel packs, one on either side, maybe that would have kept the coat in place better, as there would be a weight on each side. Instead, because the weight is on the top, once it starts to shift, because of the way the dog is pulling, etc., it swivels to one side or the other. This is a design defect.Another problem is that when you want to adjust the straps for a tighter fit, they are stitched to an inner lining, but not to the coat itself, so on a tighter sizing, the lining puffs outside of the sleeve from which the buckles emerge on either side of your dog.I also did not like that this item does NOT work if your dog wears a 2-point harness, because you cannot attach your leash to the harness through the jacket. Instead, you can only use the clip on top of the harness.

Bad buckles
Broadly functional, but has issues. The vest has a tendency to lean to the side when used, it doesn’t seem quite fitted right. The buckle design is also pretty bad, it needs to be tightened daily. But it doesn’t come off my very active dog, and she seems comfortable wearing it. I’m getting another one, personally, but it might be ok if you have a really wide dog.

Didn’t realize how well it works. While on vacation Samson (Frenchton) took a walk on the beach it was early morning and he began to panting quickly. We went back and go his vest and the panting stoped.

The Good:-Will fit almost any medium sized dog (the dogs in the picture are around 18-25 lbs and a shih tzu and Havanese)-Really does cool the dog down (I can feel that the inside of it is much cooler than the outside)-Reflective so it’s okay to walk the dog in it-The straps are sewn into the side so they don’t get lost inside the vest-The dogs didn’t hate it… but the looks that they gave me were the same when a small child is given socks for Christmas-Excellent qualityAt the time of this review, this dog cooling vest was $42.99 and I think that’s fair.

Size chart is inaccurate. However the product does work and company is helpful regarding returns.The small size is far too large for size of animal depicted in chart and photo.

I purchased this vest for my medium size dog who is high energy and needs lots of walks and doesn’t seem to care when it’s extemely hot out.Unfortunately, the vest was just slightly too small for her deep hound chest, though it fit nicely everywhere else (shoulders, neck, stomach). So, I tried it on my smaller dog, but it was too big (as expected). I even tried it on a friend’s dog, but it was too small for their chest too. It’s too bad, because I can see a lot of benefits to this vest.Pros-Goes on like a harness- can attach leash to it-Thin, breathable material-The bright striping along the seams helps improve dog visabilityCons-There is only one ice pack that goes into the back of the vest – would have been nice if they were distributed throughout-Sizing not ideal for dogs with large/deep chest.
