Purple Sweet Potato Treats for Food Topper or Training
The Pawaura Freeze-Dried Purple Sweet Potato Treats have a single ingredient, just purple sweet potato. These purple sweet potato treats have digestive benefits and are great for dogs with sensitive stomachs and IBS.These treats are an excellent food topper or can be used as training treats because they are low calorie and lightweight. These were much smaller than I expected but they are perfect for training. The pup doesn’t get filled up too quickly and they last longer and makes them a great value for the money. These treats can also be used for cats. They provide fiber support for both dogs and cats.I started using these as a food topper so the dogs would get used to them. Maybe that is why they accepted them as training treats.

My dogs and cats love these treats, perfect topper for large breed dogs
My dogs and cats love these treats, I just wish they pieces were bigger for my dogs. They are high quality single ingredient treats made with freeze dried purple sweet potato. I use them as a topper for my dogs and as an occasional treat for the cat. I also use them when I’m training my puppy. They are high in fiber so they help with the dogs sensitive stomach, all the dogs handle these treats well and they don’t upset their stomachs at all. These are also low fat treats which is something I look for. The only issue I have with these treats are that they are so small, they look like bigger treats in the listing so I was surprised when they arrived at how small they are. They are the perfect size to use for large breed dogs as a topper or as a treat for a cat or small dog. I like that they are a healthy, single ingredient, alternative treat for my dogs and cats.

Sadly, this high quality treat was snubbed by my non-picky dogs
I’m sad to say that my dogs did not like these, and they like EVERYTHING! They kept trying to eat them, and then spitting them out, over and over.I was so surprised, because they look high quality and came vacuum sealed (there is a metal pull lid on top, like a bottle of tennis jars). And they have a texture very similar to one of their favorite treats, freeze dried liver. So I decided to taste them myself (I spit it out, just in case, as these aren’t listed as human grade quality). I was expecting some bitterness or something, but to my surprise they didn’t taste bad at all. They just don’t have that MUCH flavor. But the flavor that IS there is slightly sweet and taste exactly how I would expect freeze dried sweet potatoes would taste. So I am so confused as to why my dogs kept spitting them out.To my amusement, my Boston Terrier, who is an absolute treat JUNKIE, ended up eating some after she saw me taste one myself. So at least I don’t need to get rid of these. But I’m not going to use them for training, as I want to make sure I only use high reward treats for that.Overall, at less than $10, I want to give these a really high rating, as they are such a healthy and good quality treat at a very reasonable price, especially considering how much you get. But unfortunately, my very non-picky dogs snubbed them. And so I imagine other potential consumers will likely have a similar experience. I had to give a lower rating because I want to make sure people are aware of this potential issue before making the purchase themselves.

Not for my dog. What’s with the feeding recommendations?
Unfortunately my dog will not eat these. She is a bit picky for food in general, but she’s also very food motivated for training, so I wanted to try. She’ll get it in her mouth, roll it around a little, then spit it out. Unfortunate because I know purple sweet potatoes are very healthy! One thing I find interesting is the serving size suggestions on the container. For my dog’s size it’s 3-4 per DAY? I wonder why that is? The other reviews I’m seeing seem to imply people are giving FAR more than that!!! It just seems a little odd. Maybe because they are high in fiber? Beats me. Hopefully other dogs will like them. Mine loves any freeze dried meat, but this one I couldn’t put past her.

Approved by my dog
Everyday my dog begs for these. At first he didn’t quite know what they were but after a couple of days they became part of his evening routine and if I forget them he keeps whining until I figure it out. The container says to only give him a few a day so that’s what I do but if they are just sweet potato, I don’t know why he can’t have more. My Sammy loves them!

Shelf stable and healthy bites, but size and value are downsides for medium to large dogs
PROS: I have two bullies and they gobbled these up like they do everything else I give them. The only ingredient is freeze-dried sweet potato, so I tasted one. Seemed nothing more than that. As every bully owner knows, GI-friendly treats like sweet potato are better for my boys lest we be inundated by their noxious odors.CONS: Freeze-dry processing might add to the cost, but $10 is a bit too much for what seems like a couple sweet potatoes’ worth of volume. The tiny size of each piece is also not really suitable for anything but lap dogs or cats.TLDR: I personally wouldn’t order these again, but this product might be worth it to you to have healthy, shelf-stable treats on hand.

A Great Healthy Treat for Our Furbabies
I’m really happy with the Pawaura Freeze-Dried Purple Sweet Potato Treats. My 5-year-old German Shepherd was a little hesitant at first, which isn’t unusual for him with new treats. Once I hyped them up as training treats and mixed a few pieces into his food, he was completely sold. Now he’s eager to please and works extra hard when he knows these are the reward! What I love most is how clean and simple the ingredients are — nothing added, just purple sweet potatoes. No preservatives, low fat, and high fiber gives me peace of mind about what I’m feeding him. They’re great as training rewards, food toppers, or a healthy snack. If your pet needs a little encouragement at first, don’t give up — once they realize how good these are, they’ll be hooked. I’ll definitely be repurchasing! 🐶💜
