The Protick Remedy was developed in 1990 as an easy traveling tick remover that would be available at any time or place. It needed to be user-friendly and intuitive. The reason for this was simple – the correct tweezer for tick removal is sharp, pointed, and potentially dangerous and is not easy to position. Grasping a tick “as close to the skin as possible” was the challenge. If you grasp too low the skin is pinched and grabbed too high the tick was crushed spilling the potentially diseased contents onto the victim. To get it just right we designed the Protick Remedy to slide under the tick and to grasp the ticks entry point. This is the strongest part of the tick. That’s why the Protick Remedy was designed the way it is.
After extensive testing with veterinarians, it was determined that the product performed as designed. It was in 1995 that the Protick Remedy was awarded the United States patent number 5,447,511. It was the first tick removal tool to utilize the precision slot and remains the only precision slotted tool made of steel.

The Protick Remedy was designed as an easy to use substitute for the precision tweezers used for tick removal. Unlike tweezers, it’s easy and safe to carry. Super simple to position under the tick and proven in the field and in the laboratory to be a very effective tick removal tool. Even professionals that are trained to use forceps like to have a Protick Remedy available for those unforeseen tick emergencies.
Only a product mad of steel can be this thin
The Protick Remedy design required it to be as thin as the tips of a #4 precision tweezer. With this objective we knew it couldn’t be made of aluminum or plastic, it had to be steel. It’s only 11/1000 thick while being tough and durable. So why is the ProTick Remedy still the only precision steel slotted tool available? Our patent ran out, its slot design has been copied many times, so why? Because it’s a multistep process that’s complicated and expensive to manufacture.

Gets rid of ticks like a champ
I live in tick country and these things are great. They are small and get lost or misplaced so a 6 pack is just the ticket to ensure that there is always one available when needed. I’ve never seen a tick that I could not remove with these. I’ve tried a number of other tools and methods and this is hands down the best for me. It’s small and light so I carry it with me nearly all the time. The procedure and design is simple so I never remove the body without the head. Be aware that if it is put on a key chain most of my animals find the sound of the keys more bothersome than the removal of the tick. Comes with a small magnifying glass to examine and identify the tick as well as a small ball chain to keep them together.

The best out there
The best at removing tickets. DO NOT USE TWEEZERS! These “pry” the tick off your skin without squeezing the tick to inject old blood back into your body. These are small enough to fit on a keychain and have a tiny magnifying glass to help locate and remove tiny ticks.

Woke every time. This tool work the best out of all of them.
Expensive but they flat-out work. I don’t need the booklet or the magnifier. If I could find them cheaper without those things I would buy them. That being said these work way better than the bigger tick removers that have like a hole in them. My wooded property is infested with ticks so we get them pretty regularly. If you put this against the skin and slide it alllll the way to the hilt and sloooooowly pull, the tick will release every time. Then clean the area with alcohol.

Simple design with ideal results
This is my favorite invention/product anywhere….and years ago ( hope all are still well) wonderful people who started and ran the company. This is my GO TO useful gift for anyone with dogs, cats, horses ( or just active, outdoor kids). Simple, light and should be on every keychain for outdoor people.

Really works. I live in tick central and these get a workout.I keep these stashed everywhere: car, travel kit, bathroom, workshop, kitchen “hunh?” drawer, daypack, etc.They work even on those tiny deer ticks.Make sure to read and understand the instructions.

Pro-tick remedy
Received at the very end of tick season and had no ticks on dogs. Tried to use it on myself on a very small tick and it didn’t work at all. Will have to wait until next tick season for the real test.

Indispensable in tick country
Convenient size, along with a great little magnifier. Works well for small ticks, although I’d rather be ignorant of that fact.I initially bought three to keep in various places, but decided I needed more for my family, car glove boxes, medicine cabinet. Unfortunately, where I live, ticks are a part of life. These are great to have around!
