Introducing Small Pet Select Hemp Hurd Bedding, the ultimate eco-friendly solution for your chicken coops and small pets. This biodegradable animal bedding is crafted from 100% all-natural hemp hurd, providing exceptional absorbency and odor control. Capable of absorbing up to 400% of its weight in moisture, it drastically reduces the frequency of cleaning and helps maintain a fresh environment for your beloved pets. Perfectly suited for chicken coops, as well as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and other small animals, this bedding is designed to ensure maximum comfort and health. Unlike regular hemp, which includes the fibrous outer layer of the plant, hemp hurd is derived from the inner core of the hemp stalk. This core is softer and woodier, making it an excellent material for animal bedding. Hemp hurd bedding is a low-dust material, making it an ideal choice for animals with sensitive respiratory systems or respiratory issues. Its soft, warm texture provides a cozy and comfortable surface for your pets to rest on, enhancing their overall well-being. Additionally, the long-lasting nature of hemp hurd bedding means fewer replacements, saving you time and labor costs while maintaining a clean habitat for your animals. Its non-toxic and non-palatable properties ensure the safety of your pets. Moreover, Small Pet Select Hemp Hurd Bedding is fully biodegradable and compostable, making it an environmentally responsible choice. It is versatile enough for use in chicken coops, horse stalls, barns, and various animal cages, such as those for gerbils and ferrets. When the bedding is ready to be changed, it can be added to your compost pile, contributing to a sustainable cycle. Available in a 18 lb package, this bedding should be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain its quality. Embrace a greener lifestyle while providing the best care for your pets with Small Pet Select Hemp Hurd Bedding.

Max has ALOT to say about this bedding
Seriously dust free! I enjoyed the feel of this bedding as I spread it out, & I think my hens are going to love it too. There was little to no scent unlike pine shavings, you have to like pine. I found the size and cost to be comparable. The quality of the bedding felt good. The bag size was of value & not too large. I will be purchasing this product again, as we’re going into winter months.

Great for baby chicks
This hemp hurd smells great and keeps my baby chicks brooder soft and comfortable for them to roam around in. This hemp hurd is great quality and a lot smaller than I imagined. This works perfectly for my chicks and is easy to clean. I can get 2 complete bedding changes out of one bag for my brooder, with depths of 1.5-2 inches. Great value for the amount! Will definitely purchase again.

MAKE SURE IT’S HEMP HURD
When purchasing hemp for bedding, if you want dust free and high absorption, always buy HEMP HURD. Most hemp products do not specify HURD. Steer clear of these no matter the cost. You want high quality, not cheap product.

Hemp is the best IMO
This is my first year keeping chickens, so I tried a lot of different bedding to find what works best. This is obviously not the cheapest option, but it’s definitely the best. In this Michigan winter it’s far and away better than any other bedding at absorbing moisture and odor. It’s far easier to clean out the poop without having to completely replace the bedding, so there’s cost savings there. Overall, functions better than anything else I’ve tried!

Perfect size bedding
Perfect bedding for my little ones. Does not stick to feet. Size is not too tiny and not too big but just right. Lasts a while with no smell!

Excellent NO Odor Cat Litter!
Litter recipe is generous layer of pellets (hemp or pine, which ever is cheaper 🙂 which should completely cover the bottom of the litter box. Then add a inch or two of the hemp hurds. A little experimentation might be needed for your particular household. It works like a treat and there is NO odor with the hemp/pellet combo, as it absorbs ALL the liquid. As it’s cheaper than cat litter and I only have one cat, no scooping needed! About every 3-4 days I just throw out the entire contents of the litter box and start over. If you have a multi cat household you’ll just need to toss (and scoop solids) the contents of the litter box more often or have an additional box(s).If you have curbside yard waste pickup (or do your own composting) contents of your kitty box can be recycled as it is all organic material!
