My cat is super fluffy and this works great at getting her knots out. Doesn’t tug on her skin & its easy to remove the fur for cleaning. So easy to use my 3 year old can brush her.

Great as a brush
UPDATE: I did the test. I brushed the ragdoll for 2 minutes with this, and then for 2 minutes with a furminator. The results were, basically, that this is a great brush for brushing, but not for shedding – at least on cats. The furminator was AFTER the initial brushing. But she LOVES being brushed with this.I have a long haired Ragdoll. She is very finicky about grooming and being where she doesn’t want to be.When I got this, I took her outside, and started brushing her with it. She purred and purred and purred. Even flipped over. She got a solid brushing, more than I have ever been able to give her.I cannot say whether or not this was any good at shedding. We have a LOT of deshedding tools because they are not-great in some way or another. We have the full hand glove, we have the Furminator, we have a regular old flea brush. They all do about the same. But this is not shedding season, and even though she is a long hair, virtually nothing came off. I don’t know if that is because its not shedding season or because this may be a great grooming brush, but not so great on shedding. In a week or so I will try again, first with this tool and then with the Furminator, and see if the Furminator gets anything off. I hope to update this review then.

Well made/Well Designed/Softest Cat Ever
I ordered this for my long-haired cat, and she loved it. It is easy to use, and its compact size and design make it comfortable for the cat and me. The ends of the bristles are protected. The mechanism for releasing the fur is excellent; it peels off in one sheet with ease. This is a well-designed and made brush. I highly recommend this brush because it’s hands down better than many I have used over the years.

Kitty loves the feel of this brush
In all her eleven years, this is the first brush my cat has not only allowed me to use but she also truly enjoys it! She’s a short hair but sheds like crazy and this brush does a fantastic job of removing her excess hair so it doesn’t end up as a hairball on my carpet. The push button works well in pushing the whole base up, allowing for easy cleaning. I have used it daily for months now and can attest to its durability.

Great for sensitive dogs
This slicker brush has small plastic dots covering the sharp tines, which makes it less scratchy on the skin of sensitive dogs or those with thinner fur. My dog hates regular slickers, but tolerates this one well. It goes a great job of removing loose undercoat, and the quick release actually works surprisingly well (you’ll still have to use your fingers to get it all off, but unlike a regular slicker, you won’t need a separate comb.)

Great For Long Haired Spoiled Dogs!
These self cleaning brushes are a must have if you have a pet with long hair that tends to get matted. I have a little Maltese / Yorkie mix that refuses to let us cut her hair, so keeping it brushed and mat free is the only way to keep her looking like she’s homeless! This brush does the job and is very easy to clean by just pushing the button over a trash can. I’ve had many of these in the past and this one is better quality than most and looks like it will last a long time.

SUPER handy, and sooo much less tedious
This brush works great! I was wondering about how the bristles would be, however they were great, and due to the self cleaning aspect, it was soo much easier. When you have a long haired cat, and there is a lot of shedding, and you’re constantly having to clean the brush, and in the midst of this, the bristles are inadvertently jamming under your fingernails, and extremely painful, it really is not fun. With this brush, no need for worrying about accidentally get tiny needlish bristles jammed into underneath your nails. So, totally recommend this one. And so far, it’s been working just great as far as what I’m guessing is a spring for the self cleaning part.
