Holds the cold very well.
Have had a chance to use it and find it holds the cold longer. Being in AZ with most days at 110 degrees or more every day is great. Found it larger than I thought it would be.

Amazing results-no panting
We float the river in Arizona several times a week and my seizure service dog comes with me. I don’t want him hot. Once he starts panting, I get this wet and put it on him. He doesn’t pant from heat for well over an hour (this is at 108 degrees outside). I am amazed at how great it works.

Runs big; not perfect but it works
I have a 2.5-year-old Brittany. She requires an hour of hard exercise every day, so I take her out to the hills and let her run wild while I hike. We live in the desert, and it’s quite warm in the summer, even in the coolest part of the day. I am not worried about her overheating, but when it’s warm, she spends less time running and more time lying in the shade of a bush. I need her to be expending as much energy as possible on these hikes! I got this cooling vest specifically to help with this.My dog is 36 pounds, and I got the medium. I tightened it as much as I could, and it is still a bit big (and long) on her, so I would suggest sizing down if possible. The first time I used it, I got it wet in the kitchen sink, wrung it out as instructed, and put it on her in the house. It still dripped some water on the floor. I walk her on the leash until we get to the hills just a couple blocks over, and she was very hesitant with this vest on her back. I took off the leash, and she walked slowly and awkwardly beside me. I thought there was no way this was going to work because if the vest prevents her from running all over like she usually does, then it’s definitely not worth it. It took a few moments, but eventually, she was romping around. Like I said, it’s hot and dry where we live, and before the hour was up, the vest seemed dry. I tried pouring the water I bring for her to drink on the vest, but I think you’d really have to have a water source (river, spigot, etc.) to actually get it wet again. The next time I took her, I soaked the vest outside with the hose and didn’t wring it out as much.My dog wears a gps collar so that I can also locate her, so I have tracked her mileage both wearing the vest and not wearing the vest. I’ve only done this a couple of times, and it’s obviously not super scientific, but I would say that it appears that she covers more ground while wearing it. At the very least, it is not slowing her down. It does add some extra steps to leaving on our outing, so if it’s not super hot, I don’t use it, but I am glad I got it heading into the dead of summer. It does collect tons of foxtails, but with any type of mesh fabric that is to be expected. If you have a dog that has legitimate problems with overheating and you are walking that dog on a leash, this vest will probably be just what you need (provided you size down and it fits well). If you have an off-leash bundle of energy, this won’t be as perfect, but I think it is still worth having.

I misunderstood this product as a cooling vest. I assumed it was made with the same technology as those cooling blankets, which feel like ice on a hot day.The vest is actually an evaporating vest that you soak in water, ring out lightly and place on the dog. That is how it keeps them cool. They can also wear the vest in the water like at lakes, creeks etc.The product not being what I wanted is not the seller’s fault. That said, I feel it could habe been better described at the beginning of the title of the product to prevent customers like myself from purchasing an item assuming it is or does something else.Doesn’t mean im not disappointed.That said, it does look good. Little small for my 4 month old doodle puppy but looks pretty good on my 8 month old blue heeler x border collie.It’s light weight and will work fine for a wet cooling vest for the dogs if they need it.

Die Weste saß gut, rutschte nicht und engte nicht ein. Meine Hunde wirken deutlich entspannter auf unseren Spaziergängen und hecheln weniger. Sie rennen nicht mehr von Schatten zu Schatten und ihr Fell bleibt unter der Weste angenehm kühl.Alles in allem bin ich mit der Kühlweste sehr zufrieden. Sie ist gut gemacht, funktioniert wie versprochen und ist auf jeden Fall ihren Preis wert. Ich gebe ihr gerne 5 Sterne und kann sie allen Hundebesitzern empfehlen, die ihren vierbeinigen Freunden an heißen Sommertagen etwas Erleichterung verschaffen möchten. Bitte beachten Sie jedoch, dass sie am besten draußen angelegt wird, um Wasserpfützen in der Wohnung zu vermeiden.

I have a Ruffwear cooling coat which is great, but they are very expensive to buy and this one, apart from being much better value at £37.99, is actually superior all round. Please watch my video review but to add to that, it’s extremely well made, the seams and attachments are well-stitched and the material is strong and soft.The coat works by soaking up water (you can either put it in a sink or bucket and wring out gently before putting it on your dog, or top it up with a water bottle when out and about. The water evaporates from the coat in the heat, taking heat energy from your dog to do so. If you put your hand on the dog underneath the coat you will find it’s significantly cooler where the coat was.The coat is FAR better than the Easidry ones that are made from a synthetic chamois material and are secured by one belt which wraps around from one side. They tend to slip over to one side and you have to keep adjusting them. This 4LegsFriend vest is perfectly balanced on your dog as it does up from the front with the chest part, and has two adjustable clip attachments that secure comfortably under each side, a bit like a horse’s saddle.I can’t recommend this more highly, and will be buying a smaller one for my dog’s puppy who you can also see in the video.
