Our young lab has been the beneficiary of Brave Paws and we’re glad to found something that really does work the way it says it will and the way we need. Maybe not intended for daily use?
I have a nervous dog. She’s always been nervous. Even when she was 4 months old and I brought her home, she carried herself with a level of apprehension that I probably should have taken as a warning for behavior to come over the next few years. She gets plenty of active play, morning walks, routine exercise, and more attention than she probably wants (just kidding – she would take ALL the attention if she could). She eats well and she gets plenty of downtime for sleep. She is just naturally a nervous little creature. Over the years, I’ve tried CBD oil, I’ve tried sprays, collars, and a wide variety of food supplements and/or treats. Some have worked. Some have not. Some are so-so, but have been abandoned due to lack of effectiveness combined with high retail prices.These “Calming Chews for Dogs Anxiety Relief with Natural Souroubea | Calming Aid for Dogs & Puppy During Fireworks, Thunder, Storm, Separation, Car Travel, Camping, Motion, and Stress | Beef Flavor Treats” have been added to her morning routine and she’s been taking them for about a week now. I can’t say it’s a *noticeable* improvement, but I think these might be helping a little bit. I’ve been giving her a double dose every morning to see how that affects her separation anxiety when I’m at work. (We started out with giving only a single dose (half a “treat”) but there was no difference that I could tell, so we doubled it. At a double dose, she does seem to be slightly less anxiety-ridden, but is obviously still unhappy she’s being left by herself. She’s a somewhat picky eater, but has not resisted these, so that’s a plus for sure. Over the past week she has seemed a bit less nervous – she’s still just as *aware* (think: hypervigilance) but less prone to sneaking off to hide while stressed. There’s no doubt that she is still feeling nervous.For my pup’s size (11 lbs.), she should be taking half of one of these each day. We’ve been taking double that amount and while I think it’s probably FINE, I don’t like super-dosing my dog with 2x the amount of anything (even with the caveat that she should take half a dose and then repeat every 6 hours as needed). I’m not terribly keen on the notion of giving her more than twice the recommended amount, honestly, so I’m not sure this product will work for her in the long run. We’ll see how it goes as we go through the remainder of this initial pouch, but I’m inclined to think this one isn’t a match – just not AS effective as I’d want it to be for the price, unfortunately.

A friend recommended these chews for traveling as they worked very well for her dog. Neither of my dogs would eat them. They sniffed at them and walked away.

I use these everyday for my dog with very high anxiety and separation anxiety. She was abused and starved before being rescued. They work beautifully.
