    Terrible clippers
These clippers use a fully threaded screw to hold the two parts together. As you use them, the screw tightens on it’s own so that it is almost impossible to open or close them. When the screw is tightened in this way, it is very, very difficult to loosen the screw with out stripping the head. I will see if I can find a partially threaded screw or bolt with a shoulder that fits these clippers, but I don’t hold out much hope. Save your money and buy some other clippers.

    Missing charging cable
I have not used it yet because unfortunately, the charging cable was missing. The charger is unique, so it’s not like I can proceed with using one of my existing charges. So sad because I was really excited about this.

    Please heed my advice
I’ve had my Chi clippers about 3 years now. I bought them as a backup pair to my other ones(I’ve worked for years in a pet salon). I have literally only used these 3 times now. The 1st time I tried to use them on my older male Doberman who has VERY thick nails (his are always hard to cut). After the struggling to cut through the 2and nail I finished his nails using my cheaper Safari’s. They were getting dull and still did a better job. 2nd time I used the Chi and on a different dog with average nails… the Chi failed to give a clean edge. I dremel after so while disappointed I was able to smooth the nail out. The same ease of squeezing I liked initially is one of the huge flaws in this design. I just attempted to cut my Great Danes nails and the stupid clippers kept slipping sideways on the nail. The lock on the clippers has to be forced if I want them closed all the way(see my photo). I honestly don’t know how these other people were able to give good reviews unless i just ended up with a dud. Even so at this price point there should be zero duds! I’ll stick to cheaper brands bc even with needing to replace them regularly (keep in mind if this is for home use clippers will last you longer than they do me) it’s still the better option price wise. I want to be very clear, I own several products made by Chi and I really expected more out of these clippers. I’ve used Millers and others like JW ect. Just buy something else guys. Also DO NOT waste money on guillotine style nail clippers. They dull way to easily! Also don’t fall for nail quick finding clippers, those are a gimmick and not fail proof. Noone likes to hurt an animal when trimming nails but I promise spending more hoping it will prevent it from happening is not fool proof. Most nails have indicators as to where you should cut but even at best some dogs nails just grow differently. Also if you do use a dremel remember to use a guard until you’re comfortable bc the edge can cut the dogs foot or pad or even yourself (trust me in that, I have been cut on the cuticle when a dog has pulled away from me.) And finally dremels will get hot on a dogs nail so even of you have to revisit the same nail several times do that. Keep the dremel moving so it don’t heat up on the nail and try to hold the toe to reduce vibration. You can use an electric toothbrush just to get the dog use to sound and vibration. Treats and praise even if they didn’t behave well. Eventually they will do like mine and lay down when they see me get the clippers and treats. I hope I help someone with my review I was honest as I could be guys. Thanks

    Price Gauge !
The price is twice as expensive than PetSmart. Love these clippers but only paid $20 for them at PetSmart.

    Sharp & efficient
Fantastic clippers. My dog who usually struggles for his nail trim, had no issues with me using these on him because they cut through his nail with no struggle at all.

clips thick nails smoothly, but round part gets in the way.
My dogs nails are super thick, and fear of hurting him. This blade is sharp and cuts fine, but the round part that says CHI on it gets in the way of trying to get the nail in the hole to cut it. I dont know why it has to be that bulbous. Other clippers arnt even as big.

These clippers are strong and sharp enough to cut my giant dog’s nails easily. She’s a Boerboel x Great Dane. Only negative is, the “nail catcher” on the side self tightens as you open and close the clippers – so after a few cuts, it’s so tight the clippers don’t open up anymore. Easily fixed by using a spanner to loosen the nut that holds it, but a pain as you need an extra tool handy.

I do like these and find them easy to use but because of their bulk it’s hard to see the dogs nails so you have to be very careful.

Handle doesnt spring apart when using , not as sharp as a cheap pair so not worth almost 50 bucks.
