The dog house heater is mounted inside the dog house, It is very easy to install and comes with an anti-bite cord. It kept our big boy nice and cozy in the winter . We also felt way better knowing it’s a safe heater.Recommended！ ！

Good value for the price, waterproof build
It arrived real fast. It doesn’t put off a lot of heat, but that’s fine. You don’t want to cook a dog roast, you just want to give the little furry critter a place to sleep where they won’t freeze over night.The switch appears water resistant, it’s got a rubber cover, so that’s cool. The anti-chew wire isn’t fool proof (it’s a spring wrapped around the cord) but I’m sure it works pretty well. I always put tobasco sauce on anything she might try to chew on anyways.The mounting system could be easier, such as a snap on type thing, but at least they thought to give you a mounting system.Just a piece of plastic that you flip around and put two screws into. They provide screws and plastic anchors which work ok. I have a plastic igloo dog house and it was hard because of the slope, but not the product’s fault. The difficulty could have been less if it snapped in so I could put the mounting plate up first. But it worked for me.It would be nice if they included a rubber grommet so I could bore a hole for the cord and seal it with the grommet. I had to run the wire out the opening which looks janky. But I guess I can provide my own. I’m too lazy to go back and redo it so that’s why it would be cool if they included one. I can’t fault them for it, just hope they read this and steal my idea.In total it’s really a pretty good heater for the price. It looks and seems safe and waterproof, the materials seem decent and the only complaint is the smell the first couple days. I assume some coating on the heating element to keep it corrosion free during storage. But it went away. No big deal.I would recommend it for a normal sized dog house like mine. Don’t know that it does the entire square footage on the box but nothing ever really does as much as it says on the box so can’t start caring about that now.

DO NOT BUY THIS HEATER. I normally don’t leave reviews but this one needed it. I bought 3 of these for chicken coops and within 2 days they were all junk making a horrible racket. I believe the bearings in the fans overheat and go bad. AGAIN. DO. NOT. BUY.

As others have said, this does start up with an unpleasant melting plastic sort of smell.I started this in my kitchen (big mistake) and the smell of melted plastic lingered for hours. So take it outside at first and try it there.The description says it will auto-shut down when the temperature is reached, but I had no way to test this.Most outdoor pet houses are open, or have an in and out door that would keep cold air coming in, and that means the unit would be running, possibly non-stop.Because it was in my kitchen and not as intended in a smaller enclosed space, mine is not an accurate test of the thermostat control.It is sizeable, and attaches by removing a plastic panel, screwing the panel to a wall, and then replacing the unit.The cord is great, metal protected and includes a convenient, easy to use, covered on/off switch so it shouldn’t be an issue for safety for the pets. That’s a nice touch.I can’t speak on it’s durability yet, but it’s not too expensive.This can be installed in a higher area of a wall where a pet can’t reach. I would NOT place it where it would blow directly on any animal (like a small doghouse) as the fan was strong and it did get quite hot. Use your head.It did arrive quickly, is accurately pictured, and when I plugged it in and turned it on, it worked. (But smelly).

Easy set up even w some minor mods we made.Working like a champ in our insulated carpeted “glamping’ tent we set up for our farm feral cat colony..that we inherited. upon move in to this new place.We are ALL thankful for such a superb low energy use,high power,compact SAFE heater!

Love the pet safe cord
I really like this pet safe heater. I got it to use in a tiny shed storage space off my patio where I feed a mama feral cat and her three kittens. I love the safety cord so I don’t have to worry about curious kitties chewing on the cord.The only downside is I wish it had an auto shut off if it tips over.Other than that, I would recommend. I do think it is a bit on the pricey side for what you get, which is why I took off a star (along with the lack of auto shut off.)
